For Adolphe Sax is the first album by free jazz saxophonist Peter Brötzmann, released on his own Brö label in 1967. It was reissued on LP by FMP in 1971 (most copies had labels affixed to the wrong sides) and then reissued on CD by the Atavistic label in 2002. This reissue featured the added track "Everything". Adolph Sax was the inventor of many instruments including the first saxophones.

German tenor saxophonist Peter Brötzmann's first album is the one that started all: a long career that would spawn many, many more recordings in the years to come. Recorded with the rhythm section of bassist Peter Kowald and drummer Sven-Ake Johansson, this is intense, unrelenting free jazz with little in the way of clear structure or melody. Whatever the case, this is music that gets by on force and pure energy rather than polite tunes or other musical.

Mine has no FMP logo and I've got the same matrix numbers and my labels seem to be the wrong way round too. Great pressing though!

On my copy the matrix number says BRÖ 1-A and BRÖ 1-B respectively. Is that so on all copies? Also, the lables are on the wrong sides, side A is actually side B and side B is actually side A. Did FMP make a mistake? Someone else who noticed this?
