Sordid Humor - Private Archipelago.

Light Music For Dying People ‎(CD, Album).

Sordid Humor was a musical band formed in 1987 by the duo of Tom Barnes and Jim Gordon. Barnes' unique vocal style and unusual phrasing was the trademark of Sordid Humor, and he went on to lend his vocals and alt-rock guitar style to Engine 88, and a solo project called the Blimp. Sordid Humor played what, at the time, could best be classified as college rock, releasing several independent releases before breaking up in 1992.

Does Humor Belong in Music? is a live album by Frank Zappa. The only authorized (by Zappa) EMI CD, It features concert recordings from October–December 1984. It was the first album by Zappa to be released on CD only (although it was bootlegged on vinyl for listeners who did not own CD players). In 1995, it was reissued by Rykodisc in an extremely remixed form, with significantly improved dynamic range and new artwork.

This is Sordid Humor. In fact, I think the album's best song is one that has no Adam Duritz in it whatsoever, "Private Archipelago. Private Archipelago" starts of with the sounds of thunder and a rainstorm, and the clear, sharp but soft guitar (or high bass?) that darts into the first bars of the song seem like extensions of the storm. Then, stampy, minimal drums. Then the song builds into an unrellenting, despairing yet soul-filled force, and the lyrics tell a fascinating story of a strange relationship

Album Light Music for Dying People. 1. Gun Man Lyrics. Practice makes perfect in a perfect world We practice and practice until we're the best in the world. All asleep in the house of one man's bliss How could electric shock wake me up to this. All he ever wanted was to be the king of England Bitterness drove the gunman He quit his job so he could wear sunglasses He said I don't believe in bitterness Or pain or leather jackets.
