Sham 69 originally hailed from Surrey, London. Populated by Jimmy Pursey (Vocals), the original founder of the band, Dave Parsons (Guitar), Dave Tregenna (Bass), and Mark Cain (Drums), the band got their name from an entry of graffiti that Pursey spotted out in a bathroom stall. Sham grew to later be one of the most influential punk bands of the 70’s, and while they brought the style of nasty violence and illegal happenings to most of their shows, they are also the founders of the famous OI! football punk chant that was later used by countless bands. Pointing out that the first six tracks are all live, the other eight are brilliant recordings, of which the band is surely proud of, and got them out to the public. Sham 69 - Tell Us the Truth. this japan edition of this 1978 punk classic was RELEASED IN JAPAN IN 1980 NOT 1978 as stated, anyway this is the hardest sham 69 japan lp to find as a japanese pressing, i think not as many of these where printed as thats life and hersham boys back in 1980 when all three of these came out in japan, anyway nice thick japan sleeve, nice thick RED obi strip and a really nice insert w/ lyrics in english and an essay on the other side of the sheet in japanese on sham 69 and this debut record of theres, again it took me a long time to find this near mint, complete and with the obi strip. this was a uk punk classic back in 1978 and i will always feel this was there best record ever!!!!!
