2 tablespoons white sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 6 ears corn on the cob, husks and silk removed. Fill a large pot about 3/4 full of water and bring to a boil. Stir in sugar and lemon juice, dissolving the sugar. Gently place ears of corn into boiling water, cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let the corn cook in the hot water until tender, about 10 minutes.

Winston Cooper (. 939–1995), better known as Count Matchuki or Count Machuki, was the first Jamaican deejay. Cooper was born . 939 in Kingston, Jamaica, and began working on sound systems in the 1950s, when the music played was largely American R&B. His stage name of Count Matchuki derived from his habit of chewing matchsticks.

Artist Biography by Adam Greenberg. Count Machuki (born Winston Cooper) has been hailed as the first man to speak over a record, the first DJ. One of the original men of the dancehall scene in Jamaica, Machuki worked as a disc selector (eventually to become known as toasters, and then DJs) for Tom the Great Sebastian. On one fateful evening, while Sebastian left the hall to get more liquor for the bar, Machuki began turning new records on the turntable to keep the crowd moving. From a success then, he moved on to other larger halls and worked with bigger names, eventually working with Clement.

The bare corn cobs still have a lot of flavor and can infuse the water beautifully. Try using the liquid in corn chowder, creamed corn, corn pudding, and more. 2. Make corn cob jelly. This corn cob jelly is a great idea if you have a ton of naked corn cobs leftover. It's sweet with a pretty golden color and is perfect for spreading on fluffy biscuits or toast. If you're not planning on cooking with the naked cob, a fun way to use it is to make a corncob bird feeder. Once the corn kernels are removed, spread some peanut butter over the entire thing and sprinkle bird food on top. This is easy enough for kids to help with and you'll love watching the birds munch away! 5. Scrape off the corn milk.

Winston Cooper) is regarded to be one of the first if not the first deejays. What he did was to change the role of the sound system DJ from a person that only puts on the records to a person who had live contact with the audience with the help of a microphone. Count Machuki started out as a disc selector in 1950 for Tom the Great Sebastian (b. Tom Wong).

In India, you will find many stalls selling this buttered corn or masala corns. And these are often served in paper cups. Hence it is also called as cup corn. At home, we all prefer masala corn, but kids prefer this butter corn as it is less spicy. I make this butter corn very often, whenever kids are at home. This is a very simple recipe which every body can try making

On Amalgamated, produced by Joe Gibbs. Really doesn’t get much better. Machuki was the original and, in For The Suits opinion, best of the Jamaican DJs. He started out on Tom Wong’s Tom The Great Sebastian sound system before moving onto Tokyo The Monarch and ultimately Coxsone Dodd’s Downbeat sound system. The guy was responsible for King Stitt getting his start as a DJ, invented beatboxing and unfortunately never got all the respect he deserved

Corn on the cob is normally eaten while still warm. It is often seasoned with salt and buttered before serving. Some diners use specialized skewers, thrust into the ends of the cob, to hold the ear while eating without touching the hot and sticky kernels. Within a day of corn being picked it starts converting sugar into starch, which results in reduction in the level of natural sweetness  . Corn on the cob can be grilled directly in its husk, or it can be husked first and then wrapped in aluminum foil. When oven roasting, cooking the corn in the husk directly on the rack is recommended. When roasting or grilling corn on the cob, the cook can first peel the husk back to rub the corn with oil or.
