Dead Hour from back in the day. Must've recorded it on cassette and listened several times since (last time, though, was probably about twenty years ago). Thank you, David Gans! Penultimate Spanish Jam. Last one played was 25 shows prior on 12/18/94; final one would be 10 shows later on 6/18/95.
Sam Boyd Stadium is a football stadium in Whitney, Nevada, United States, an unincorporated community in the Las Vegas Valley. It honors Sam Boyd (1910–1993), a major figure in the hotel and casino industry in Las Vegas. The stadium consists of an uncovered horseshoe-shaped single-decked bowl, with temporary seating occasionally erected in the open north end zone. Since 1990, the final round of the AMA Supercross Championship has been held at the venue, currently in early May. Most of the track is located inside the stadium with extensions taken into the area behind the score board. During the 1990s, The Grateful Dead played 14 shows at the stadium.

Box Of Rain's return to the live repertoire in 1986 after a 13 year absence was one of the most welcome re-births of a Dead song. Since its March 20, 1986 return in Hampton, VA, Box Of Rain was a song that could appear anywhere in the show, sometimes opening the second set (as it does here), sometimes an encore, occasionally ending a first set, random middle of the first set placement, and even an occasional show-opener. Box Of Rain would be the last song the Grateful Dead ever played.
