The Wrestling Album is a music album released by the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) in 1985 at the height of the Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection era. It featured mostly theme music of wrestlers on the roster at the time. Most of the songs were produced by Rick Derringer. David Wolff, at the time Cyndi Lauper's manager and boyfriend, was executive producer. The album was basically Wolff's concept

Mike Stock and Pete Waterman (of Britain's famed Stock Aitken Waterman songwriting team) oversaw the project as producers and co-composers for RCA Records, with British A&R executive Simon Cowell serving as the executive producer. The album failed to chart on the US Billboard 200 but reached in the UK. The single "Slam Jam" was certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry in the United Kingdom.

Real American (Theme Song) is one of the theme songs/entrance songs used by Hulk Hogan. The song is one of the 10 tracks included on the WWF's wrestling album, The Wrestling Album, released in 1985 by Epic Records. The song's music and lyrics were composed by Rick Derringer, a rock artist best known for his work with the McCoys (singing lead on their 1965 No. 1 hit "Hang On, Sloopy"), his 1974 solo release "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Coo," and his work with rock bands the Edgar Winter Group and Steely Dan.

My first exposure to wrestling came about in 2002 when I went to Japan to interview and train with Kazushi Sakuraba, the shining star of MMA at the time. The few hours I spent at Takada Dojo watching and working out with with Saku forever changed my understanding of martial arts. At the time I was studying BJJ and believed it the ultimate martial art, having proven itself almighty in the Octagon. It detailed their methods and training at the Real . Real American Wrestling) Training Facility in El Segundo, California (now called R1 Gym and located in nearby Inglewood). The article described a style with wrestling as its base and Chiapparelli as the maestro who had figured out how to apply wrestling to the emerging MMA game. A mere 20 minutes away, I grabbed my gear and drove to the gym. It was impossible to find the place.
