He won so many Gold Record awards over a 35 year RCA recording career, Perry refused certification on some of them, also tried suppressing the public disclosure of his total millions of discs sold. Besides acknowledging a substantial body of best sellers, his 1958 RCA VICTOR compilation, PERRY COMO'S GOLDEN RECORDS (LPM-1981) may also be a celebration of that distinct honor.
