Milestones (CL 1193) is a studio album by American jazz trumpeter and composer Miles Davis, recorded with his "first great quintet" augmented as a sextet. It was released in 1958 by Columbia Records. Tenor saxophonist John Coltrane's return to Davis' group in 1958 coincided with the "modal phase" albums: Milestones and Kind of Blue (1959) are both considered essential examples of 1950s modern jazz. Davis at this point was experimenting with modes – scale patterns other than major and minor.

However, the Patti Page album included is not her 1955 Mercury LP but her Columbia 1965 LP CS 9214. Why can't these compilers check the facts before they include something which does not fit here. I have this and really wanted the Patti Page 1955 album which includes White Christmas, I Want to Go Skating With Willie, Mama Doll Song, Where Did My Snowman Go?, Christmas Choir, The Christmas Song and the originals of Christmas Bells and Pretty Snowflakes! Otherwise this is a great compilation. These are great old albums with artists that I remember from the time I was young. This is a great way to obtain a large amount of good Christmas music.
