EL VY is an American indie rock supergroup, with collaboration between Matt Berninger (lead vocalist of The National) and Brent Knopf (founding member of Ramona Falls and Menomena). The duo released their debut album, Return to the Moon, in October 2015. The two became friends and kept in touch, periodically playing gigs together in subsequent years.

After listening to the album a few times, I can honestly say that this lack of attention is wholeheartedly undeserved. For those who don't know, EL VY is a collaboration between Matt Berninger of the National, and Brent Knopf of Menomena and Ramona Falls. The story goes that the two met on tour a while back, and decided to work together. Over the next few years, the two exchanged partial bits of song writing, and finally after the National took a break the two began to work and record together in earnest - and so, "Return to the Moon" was born.
