We've got ya covered. Metal frames guarantee durability while plastic detailing provides a touch of style on these round shades with accent brow bars. The smaller-fit oval lenses are polarized for max protection. Category 3, polarized.
All through the last decade, you’d find a lot of people insisting that the album was dead, a victim of the MP3, the iPod and a la carte downloading. But that never happened. If anything, artists doubled down on the format, resulting in a renaissance of long form artistic statements from a wide range of artists. Tons of 2000s bands made it their business to square Nineties indie-rock and Seventies metal. But none were as inventive – or as heavy – as the Portland riot-grrrl trio. Here he sings classics both old and new, harmonizing with Tom Petty on a defiant I Won’t Back Down, while the eighteenth century ballad Wayfaring Stranger, which Cash cut earlier in his career, is downright spooky: When he sings, There's no sickness, no toil nor danger in that bright land to which I go, he sounds like a man ready to.
Madonna’s third studio album, True Blue, was covered by a striking image of the diva photographed by celebrated photographer Herb Ritts. He would later re-team with Madonna for both the You Can Dance and Like a Prayer covers. Before his death in 2002, Ritts would also direct a number of music videos - including Madonna's "Cherish" - and earn an MTV Video Music Award nomination. Joni Mitchell's streak of classics continued with the 1976 folk-jazz album Hejira, which boasted her best artwork.
Cover Version is a compilation album released in 2014 by British musician and record producer Steven Wilson. The album compiles the 12 songs originally released as six "2 song" singles. Every release was made up of one original song and one cover song that involved new interpretations of other artist's songs in ways much different from their original versions. The only exception to this format is in "The Unquiet Grave" which is actually an old English folk song, and not an original song written by Wilson.
I Got A Woman (Elvis Presley). 18. Rock And Roll Music (Chuck Berry). 19. Mister Moonlight (Dr Feelgood And The Interns). This collection of songs covered by The Beatles is nearly complete and is really nice to have in one collection on this 2 - CD set. The sound is overall very good, considering the recordings are all from different sources. A very interesting album, as a background to the songs The Beatles covered.
When Hole covered He Hit Me for their 1995 MTV Unplugged recording, it was nothing short of a triumph. From Courtney Love ’s loud, snarling lips, backed with grunge guitars and mostly female musicians, the song transformed into the subversive indictment of male violence it was meant to be. You realize, watching them, that Hole could have written the song. Found on the band’s 1970 album Loaded, the Velvet Underground original is a stately ballad, influenced by Lou Reed ’s adoration of ‘50s doo-wop and dreamy Phil Spector productions, complete with a spoken word lament/plea to a lover. Chan Marshall’s version, by contrast, is of a piece with most of the material she recorded for her 2000 Covers Record.
