1992-1998 (also known as Bedhead: 1992-1998) is a compilation boxed set by the American band Bedhead containing all three of their studio albums as well as early singles and extended plays. It was released on November 11, 2014, by the Numero Group.

Beheaded, their second album, from 1996, is the hardest of the three to get a handle on. Much of the brightness and surges of joy found on the first album are gone, but the space and precision of their third, Transaction de Novo, haven’t quite arrived. The thorough (and very good) notes by Matt Gallaway describe it as their darkest record, but that feels like a question of a half a shade or so.

1992-1998 (Numero Group). Six short years Bedhead recorded, 1992-1998, which strikes as incongruent considering the Dallas quintet's influence, particularly in Texas as a cornerstone of Austin's Trance Syndicate label. Unassuming simplicity centers Matt and Bubba Kadane's musical precision and minimalism, whose intimacy envelopes a post-rock shoegazing blur of guitars.

Ya know, I got this when it came out and never had any problems with it. Nothing off center or defective. Feel like one of the lucky ones but this is one of my favorite box sets.

Mine was also pressed off-center on all but the singles/ep albums. So much so that they are unlistenable. I'm almost tempted to take a power drill and make a new center hole to align it better.

My set was also ridiculously off center across the board. What a shame. I was hoping this would be the definitive version of these albums. The mastering sounds incredible when the off center pressing isn't making the music warble terribly.

Rob, at Numero Group, confirmed that there was only one pressing of these, though some seem a bit better than others. Numero Group's customer service was excellent and tried twice to get good copies to me, checking the LPs themselves and without complaint. However, every LP in the set was grossly off-center. One LP was severely warped. The lead in on most were noisy. To be blunt: they are grossly unpleasant to listen to. A representative of Bedhead told me in detail how the set was made from the original masters and the personal challenges of the sound engineer to get the best out of the masters. After so much effort, it is a shame that the resultant pressings are garbage. Long, clear sustains go in and out of tune as the cart sways to and fro. In more melodious moments, the off center records sound seasick. It's almost nausea inducing. It is a stunning disappointment.Tremendous detail went into designing the sleeves, outer box, and large booklet. If only the same amount of detail went into the pressings.1 out of 5 stars.

The first pressing of this had major pressing issues. But thankfully, the people behind Numero Group are outstanding and made everything right by replacing defective copies with the second pressing. Bedhead are certainly worthy of the amazing treatment given here but it took a special label to make it a reality. Included is the entire catalog including the singles and B sides, digital copies, and an impressive, hefty booklet of the band's history. The albums in the set are also available individually but you might as well pick up the box set because it's all essential. My only gripe is how hard it is getting the record in and out of the sleeve. Why did they make it so tight!

I had nothing but problems with the pressings of this box set. I have no idea whether they ever sent me second pressings but I went through 3 different sets of some of the LPs and never got a good one (this was September 2015 - November 2015). There's strange distortion on a couple of sides and it almost sounds as though the grooves aren't deep enough or something. It's really distracting. They eventually refunded me, but if you are a prospective buyer I would advise against buying it.

Just got this in the mail. This box set is perfection.
