Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей The Beatles. Let It Be was the last album that The Beatles came out, right after the Group (in april 1970) announced to part ways. The recordings were all of more than a year earlier, still before the Abbey Road sessions, which earlier on the market. The underlying idea was to the songs at one time on the band but the musicianship of the band members was, through years not to act, to very deteriorated to convince without overdubs.

Naked is an alternative mix of the Beatles' 1970 album Let It Be, released in 2003. The project was initiated by Paul McCartney, who felt that the original album's producer, Phil Spector, did not capture the group's stripped-down, back-to-their-roots intentions for the album. Naked consists largely of newly mixed versions of the Let It Be tracks while omitting most of Spector's embellishments and the incidental studio chatter featured between many of the songs on the original album.

Let It B. aked is the stripped-down, album that The Beatles originally aimed to create, free of vocal and instrumental overdubs or added effects. Let It Be evolved from an original plan to make a television show featuring the group playing tracks from the recent ‘White Album. That idea changed in three ways. However, amidst the turmoil of the band’s breakup, the album was re-produced by Phil Spector before its 1970 release and it did not represent the raw and unadorned set The Beatles had in mind. It is the Twickenham Film Studios sessions that have characterised the whole Let It Be project as an unhappy one both in the minds of The Beatles themselves and anyone who saw the documentary footage in the movie. The film sound rolls recorded at Apple (after their decision to move back to their studio there) disclose how much the atmosphere of the sessions had improved.

Let It Be - The ultimate song. The original version to this song had a HORRID guitar solo in it that seemed so out of place. The song is turned into more of a sad ballad than a rocker in this version. Very Very Nice touch. The album didn't really kick off right with I Dig A Pony or finish right with Get Back, the way Naked does it is far better. Which do you prefer? Fuzzy, raw Across The Universe or the slightly polished new version.

Naked is a remixed, resequenced presentation of the most maligned Beatles album, and for better or for worse, will wrap no loose ends whatsoever. The best news about this record is that the songs themselves have not changed much in 33 years Naked also comes with a second disc entitled Fly on the Wall, consisting of several short fragments of studio conversation and song rehearsals, amounting to approximately 21 minutes of bonus material. This disc will doubtless be fascinating to fans, and in particular the snippets of John performing a very early version of "Imagine" (here referenced as "John's Piano Piece"), and a short, striking version of Harrison's "All Things Must Pass", obviously influenced by his time spent with Bob Dylan and The Band in America the previous year.

Let It Be was intended to be a return to fundamentals-just four musicians playing live in the studio. But creative fractures eventually led The Beatles to scuttle the month-long sessions and Let It Be only saw the light of day after being reassembled by Phil Spector (famed for his elaborate Wall of Sound aesthetic). Let It B. aked is, at long last, a realisation of the band’s original vision. Overseen by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr and remastered from the original tapes, these performances offer the warmth and intimacy of the sessions with no added flourishes Naked The Be.

Now the anniversary version is in progress, maybe just maybe, we will get a double vinyl or triple vinyl with all three versions together - Let It Be, "Naked" and Get Back?? And who knows some of those missing session cuts. We have been listening to the original much longer than any new cuts, it is always hard to accept which ones best, as the newer versions have not been around as long, unless you are of a new age. A musician typically loves "Naked", the general listener the "original". To the musician, you can hear the structure of the songs better and how they build up, thats art for you............

Much better than the 1970 release. Missing "Maggie May" & "Dig It" but those were just after thoughts. Added "Don't Let Me Down". Much better sound. I do prefer the Spector "Let It Be" guitar solo over this one but no biggie

I wish they would re-release this on vinyl, that'd be incredible as this is a major step-up from the original Spector mess. The Wall of Sound was indeed an interesting idea and it did work well on some music like the singles from the Ronettes and the Righteous Brothers but he butchered the hell out of Let It Be as well as Harrison's All Things Must Pass. I wish someone would go back and remix All Things Must Pass, if possible.

My copy has the words "recordingis" written as one word on the 7" single cover but not on the album back cover. Can anybody confirm the misprint on the album back cover exists ? as I can't see the error in the photos on this release. My runouts are 5954380 1A1 SRz & 1B1 SRz

Bought my copy day one of release... "recordingis" is printed on rear of gatefold jacket and 7" sleeve.

My vote is for Phil’s original 1970 mix, an entertaining, and rather humorous assemblage of “Let It Be”. Of course I appreciate the “back to basics/back to roots” approach that Paul had originally intended, for what was going to be the “Get Back” project...and in all fairness, "Let It Be... Naked" deserves a listen, but it doesn’t really come out any better, or any closer to some unrealized masterpiece. Paul's "...Naked" offering plays simply as a bunch of (sterile sounding) songs, that’s it, it isn’t as interesting, or as satisfying as the Spector take, and ultimately ends up feeling nonessential somehow. As Paul once sang, “Speaking words of wisdom...LET IT BE”.

I couldn’t agree more the Spector’s take is indeed a bit of “a hot mess”, that is “unnecessarily grandiose” on a few tracks, however, overall, it is a better listen and more entertaining than “...Naked”, especially in the way that the songs were programmed and edited together. This was done in order to create a “viable” product worthy of The Beatles’ final album, as well as something that would make a suitable accompaniment/tie-in to the “Let It Be” film. My hope is that with all the new Giles Martin approaches to the Beatles’ back catalogue, and with Peter Jackson on board to fix up the movie, that one final attempt at “Get Back” will be considered-release the shelved “Get Back” album in all of it’s original intended glory...“Go back, go back, go back to where Get Back belonged!”. ????????????????

I have to agree. I bought the naked version back when it came out, and I tried really hard to think it was brilliant, and better than the original. I eventually gave it away when I came to the conclusion that the original album just sounded like better music to me. Maybe I expected more intimacy in the naked version, and to my ear it just sounded like the same takes with half of the instruments missing. To me it's just dull. I know, I know, I'll turn in my Beatles Fan card on the way out. That said, I'm glad it exists for those who prefer it.

You couldn't be more wrong even if you tried, the Spector take is a hot mess of muddled overdubs and unnecessarily grandiose.
BlackHaze
I'm not sure if the grooves in my copy could be any shallower. Constant skipping.
Debeme
This probably isn't the best stripped down version of Let It Be that they could've released, but it is at some points much better than Phil Spector's shit mixing job. The bonus disc is also a nice touch.

Record producer Phil Spector at the last minute was attracted to from hundreds of hours of tape to put together an album. Are heavily orchestrated contributions were especially detested by Paul McCartney. More than thirty years on, are under his leadership the remixed recordings, without the additions of Spector. Songs like The Long And Winding Road and I Me Mine are sure gone ahead but to niemendalletjes as Dig A Pony and For You Blue is not much to tinker. The extra added version of Don't Let Me Down is suffering under the unsteady vocals by John Lennon. Thus Let It Be ... Although something more coherent naked sounds than the original but not necessarily more convincing. On the bonus cd is over twenty minutes of studio interviews and first attemps of songs, which are actually more interesting for the Beatles fan.

A true Beatles fan would prefer Let It Be... Naked over Let It Be. Enough said.
Gavirgas
No true Scotsman, indeed. But you did say "enough said" so...valid.
Samugul
A true Beatles fan would already have and worn out the original "Let It Be" and would be eager to hear the album presented in a form closer to its original artistic vision according to the living members. The versions are quite unique without Phil Spector's "Wall Of Sound"
Mave
There was no American LP issue. Copies sold in America were imported from the UK and had a sticker with a Capitol number affixed to the shrinkwrap.
Atineda
People weren't buying a lot of records then so Capitol just imported some for the fans. This was done with other bands as well.
