Song for Juli is the fourth solo album by Singer-Songwriter and former Youngblood Jesse Colin Young. The standout tracks are "Mornin' Sun", "Song for Juli", and "Miss Hesitation". The album had a higher chart placing than any of the Youngbloods albums, and stayed on the charts longer than any other album he ever made. Young, Suzi Young) - 4:59. Miss Hesitation" (.
Jesse Colin Young was the lead singer in The Youngbloods, of "Get Together" fame. Song For Juli" is a track from his second solo album after the band's demise in 1972. He wrote the song about his daughter, Julia, after her brother, Cheyenne, was born. We wrote it for her, my ex and I, at a time when she really felt bumped out of the limelight by her little brother and she needed a song that made her feel special," Young told Songfacts in 2019

Jesse Colin Young’s ‘Dreamers’ album. Best Classic Bands: How does Dreamers differ from your earlier solo albums, like 1973’s Song for Juli? Jesse Colin Young: Song for Juli was looking forward. This album is looking backward. A lot of the songs on this record are yearning for things and calling for things to happen that haven’t happened yet. Would you agree that Song for Juli is the solo album that most people know? Juli was probably the most popular. I was listening to a lot of jazz and I had met Jim Rothermel and my keyboard player Scott Lawrence
Jesse Colin Young and the Youngbloods. US Army in early 70s in a SE Asia dungheap, and wanting nothing more than to get out mostly in one piece and go home to Joan. Thank you, Perry Miller AKA Jesse Colin Young. It was every bit as good as I was hoping it'd be. The CD comes with a booklet complete with lyrics to all the songs, as well as a list of all the musicians who played on the album and the instruments they used. Pretty impressive for a CD reissue of an album 30 years old. I was expecting just a one sided paper insert with the album cover on the front. The music is quite good.
