Features Song Lyrics for Psychic Ills's A Psych Tribute to the Doors album.
Legendary godfathers of dark psychedelic rock, the Doors are paid homage on this tribute compilation made up of a colorful array of various next-generation psych warriors. The compilation covers renditions of big hits like "Light My Fire," "Love Me Two Times," and "Touch Me" by acid rock-informed indie artists like Clinic, the Black Angels, and Dead Meadow, as well as slightly deeper cuts such as the Raveonettes' take on "The End" and "The Soft Parade" by Sons of Hippies.

Albums: A Psych Tribute To The Doors . Released: 2014. It seemed like it could have been all concept, but the execution might have fallen short. After listening to the whole CD I can say this is a tribute album that actually pays tribute to the band they’re covering. I’ve never heard of any of the bands on the CD before, but each one has a completely different take on The Doors song they chose

Stoned - A Psych Tribute To The Rolling Stones, Various. I’ve never heard of any of the bands on the CD before, but each one has a completely different take on The Doors song they chose. They picked songs from throughout The Doors career and not just their psychedelic songs. Each band takes the songs to places The Doors might never have contemplated. I bought this tribute album because the Raveonettes do "The End," and I'm a fan of theirs. They do a nice two-verse rendition, leaving out the narrated "weird scenes inside the gold mine" passages about intra-family murder and strongly implied Oedipal sex. Too bad, because they'd do a great job. I've listened to the CD start-to-finish four times now, and it grows on me.
Light My Fire: A Classic Rock Salute to the Doors is a tribute album dedicated to The Doors. It was produced by Yes member Billy Sherwood and it features Ian Gillan, Todd Rundgren, Steve Hillage and many others. It was released on June 24, 2014 by Purple Pyramid Records. Woman" (Jimi Jamison, Ted Turner, Patrick Moraz). Love Me Two Times" (Lou Gramm, Thijs van Leer, Larry Coryell). Roadhouse Blues" (Leslie West, Brian Auger, Rod Piazza). Love Her Madly" (Mark Stein, Mick Box).
The album was released by Columbia in with no marketing back-up, and became the lowest selling record in the label’s history up until that point. Most memorable tracks are Legend Of The Mind, which was inspired by Timothy Leary, House Of Four Doors, The Best Way To Travel and Ride My See-Saw. But everything here works supremely. This includes Justin Hayward’s incorporation of sitar, Graeme Edge using tabla and Mike Pinder bringing the Mellotron into sharp focus. This was, and should always have been, a one-off album. The perfect psych turn o. iew Deal. The Pretty Things - . Who released the first ever rock opera?
Other Voices (The Doors album). Other Voices is the seventh studio album by the Doors, released by Elektra Records in October 1971. It was the first album released by the band following the death of the lead singer Jim Morrison in July 1971 with keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger sharing lead vocals. Tracks for the album had begun before Morrison's death and the band hoped that Morrison would return from Paris to finish them.
