Doves - The Last Broadcast album FLAC
From the album The Last Broadcast (2002).
The Last Broadcast is the second studio album by British indie rock band Doves. The album was released by Heavenly Records on 29 April 2002, and went straight to number 1 on the UK Albums Chart.

When Doves issued Lost Souls in fall 2000, Britpop was immersed in its melodic gloom-and-doom era, ushered in by the success of Radiohead. What separated Doves from the rest was a glint of passion, evident on their 2000 debut, Lost Souls. Two years later, the atmospheric dreamscapes of Lost Souls were torn asunder for the musical daybreak of The Last Broadcast.
Normally I wouldn't think of Manchester's Doves as an appropriate soundtrack for this kind of mood, but that's largely because until very recently I was only familiar with their first album, 2000's dark, murky Lost Souls. On that record, the band showed their facility with dark, claustrophobic textures and muted melodic statements, only occasionally indulging their impressive pop sense. And while their latest offering, The Last Broadcast, could hardly be called a wholesale revamping of their sound, it concentrates mostly on elements that the trio kept very subdued on their.
The Last Broadcast - Instrumentals (CDr, Album, Promo). A truly great album, one of the best Indie/Rock albums to come out of the UK in the last 5 years. Full of melancholy but joyful sounding at the same time. Highlights for me are "M62 Song", "Pounding" and "Caught By The River".

Doves had made a great album with "Lost Souls" but "The Last Broadcast" showed the true potential of Doves, that they were more than just another standard brit-pop band. With many guest musicians playing orchestral instruments and such, this cd is unique. The Last Broadcast- The title track of the album has some cool electronics in it. The main riff has some vocal samples or something in it, which makes it very cool. The rest of the song gets pretty samey, except for the end when some cool electronics come in.
