Cave In - Creative Eclipses album FLAC
EP by Cave In. Luminance. Burning Down The Billboards.
Cave In's numerous hardcore fans determined Creative Eclipses to be a one off diversion but would be shocked to discover the band's second album proper Jupiter more than repeated the progressive trend. This endeavour, whilst enticing new appreciators, alienated Cave In from many of their former allies. Features the final recordings of bassist Caleb Scofield, who died in a car crash in March 2018 while driving home after a weekend spent recording new tracks. Cave In put the demos aside while they toured in memorial for Scofield, and later finished nine tracks that became Final Transmission. Scofield appears on all tracks on the album and the title is a reference to a voice memo he sent the surviving members of Cave In before his crash.

Creative Eclipses stands in the shadow of no other release and, at best, feels like a faint nostalgia in the sense that some of these ideas have already been glimpsed at before. What sets it apart are the lengths to which they are explored and developed, even if only in something as subtle as featuring a single acoustic guitar or as fluid as ambient experimentation.
Gone from Creative Eclipses are many Cave-In trademarks - the screaming vocals, manic riffs, and brutal bottom end that previously whipped up a wide-ranging storm of chaos are all absent. Instead, this EP offers new and different directions. Expansions on Until Your Heart Stops' psychedelic leanings take place with two spacy but focused instrumental tracks. A pair of almost straightforward rock songs are present as well, at least as straightforward as Cave-In can get. If Robert Fripp did some work on Split Lip's Fate's Got a Driver, it might come close to these two songs
Cave In : Creative Eclipses. Hardcore, USA (1999 - Hydra Head Records) Learn more. Why do I hear your name? Why do I feel the same in every dream I ever have? Luminance. Standing in a freezing place beyond, Until your heart has stopped its chime. I'll show you a trick with ants when The suns high in the sky we can Burn them up to crisy black shells See them crunched by old slow slick snails. Light the fuse inside the dead bird Feather flurries rain on our heads Empty nests with three small brown eggs Well think of something before the night ends

Creative Eclipses EP. "Please retry". I wish Cave-In had done a whole album like this, it's one of the best songs they have written. The segue tracks or 'sonatas' are cool but I find myself skipping over them as they seem to be there mostly just to create a sense of atmosphere for the album and don't really go anywhere by themselves. The Failure cover is cool and indicates the more pop/alternative rock direction they would eventually explore with the Antenna album. I'm not a huge Failure fan but they pull off the cover very well
