At the time of Dangerous, Michael Jackson's universal popularity was on par with pizza and the polio vaccine. It was the last time that Michael Jackson was Michael Jackson. So when he released the first single from Dangerous, his first album in four years, fanatical interest led MTV, VH1, BET, and Fox to televise it at the same time-offering the greatest strategic victory since the Berlin Wall tumbled two years prior. And even though Jackson technically didn’t cause the collapse of East German Communism, his star wattage was so supreme that the Stasi secret police spied on him during his 1988 Berlin concert, fearing that obsessive MJ fans would accomplish what Reagan couldn’t.

So, it was time for a change-up, something even a superstar as huge as Michael Jackson realized, so he left Quincy Jones behind, hired Guy mastermind Teddy Riley as the main producer, and worked with a variety of other producers, arrangers, and writers, most notably Bruce Swedien and Bill Bottrell. The end result of this is a much sharper, harder, riskier album than Bad, one that has its eyes on the street, even if its heart gets middle-class soft on "Heal the World

Michael Jackson's album dangerous was released 1991 and the album had a bit of emotional songs about poverty, hunger, war, love, and helping children in the world. I love this album because of its of sentimental feel songs such as: heal the world, will you be there, gone too soon, and I also love his sexy songs such as: in the closet, she drives me wild, remember the time, Can't let her get away.

DISCLAIMER: I wasn’t able to obtain every acapella on the album. In tribute of today being the 9th anniversary of Michael’s death, I’ve decided to put together an all acapella album of Dangerous. I really hope you guys enjoy this video! I love you all & thank you for staying with me!!

Anyone else notice that the word "three" in "side three" is misspelled as "tree"? Kinda funny, I bought mine at the end of this pressing's life and it still had it. I guess no one noticed it over 8 years or so lol.
Nawenadet
Then its a misprint! Well... i dont know if you could consider thats error a misprint, but check!
Tori Texer
My copy is excellent. Plays perfect has no background noise at all. I think it's better then the original pressing. Love all tracks - such a great album. Michael: the world is missing you and your music. Such a shame your not with us anymore . I am Fan 4 ever x. For me one of the most inspiring artist that ever lived...
Preve
This remastered release worth a bite. My copy almost flawless and sounds great, no cracks/clicks.
Simple fellow
Recently I’ve purchased this release at a local vinyl store in The Netherlands. Upon listening I was very disappointed with the sound quality. I sounded as if I was listening through a pillow, a dull sound with little vibrance. Noticed several pops/clicks, even after using the carbon brush before it’s first play. Exactly the way reviewer ‘Vibeby’ describes below. My records also missed some of the labeling and were pressed incorrectly (the center hole was molded wrong). Finally, some of the song were skipping on it’s first play. Unacceptable, definately a bad pressing.I returned the set to the store and was hesitant to exchange it for a new set since I also wasn’t impressed with the sound quality. I was happy I did exchange it for a new set.The new set has no strange pressing errors, shows all labels, doesn’t skip and, most importantly, sounds totally awesome! The Black or White intro and first notes sound very impressive, so do the other songs. I literally had a ‘ Jam’ playing these records. “Why you wanna trip on me’ sounds very sharp, but not artificially enhanced, giving you the lows exactly were you’ll expect them. In the end I ended up playing the full set on it’s first play, listening while doing some work, cooking and, at times, turning up the volume just to confirm over and over this is a very fine release. Recommended (, but watch out for bad pressings). L.O.V.E.

finally got this pressing. wanted to compare my old 1991 korean pressing. it's 10 seconds to see how poorly mastered pressing it is. compared the 1991 Korean pressing, channel seperation and dynamics are noticeably poor on this. base is dull. since this album itself was mixed and produced superbly, if one listen only this pressing, the one would think this is a great pressing with a good SQ. bu sorry it's not. it can be so much better on original pressings.
Kajikus
Just side three presented some 'pop' issues, but i think with a good deep cleaning it would sound alright, other than that i thought the rest of the sides sounded amazing
Hinewen
Lots of negative reviews here, I think the pressing sounds absolutely amazing.
Abuseyourdna
Same for me a lot of cracks and pops and cleaning it didn't solve it at all.The mastering is very good but the pressing is a shit !!!!!!I am fed up paying more than 25€ for a product that manufacturers produce like shit....They should do something good for this resurected market, but as usual they don't understand anything about merchandizing and quality...Produce bad quality in quantity, and soon you'll make the market die once more. Incredible to be so so narrow minded....
Gravelblade
Had no chance with my copy. Strong hissing / distortion on s-sounds from time to time, especially on B4, C2 and C3. Quite disappointing. Too bad that I don't have a '91 pressing to compare with. What do you folks think of the initial pressing quality?
Brariel
I really hoped this would sound good - and it does! Very good! The production and sounds in this album mean that any errors in pressing would be pretty obvious. Im so happy with it. Great seperation, clean crisp highs (glass breaking) and punchy lows (dad thumping on the door). In my top 5 best sounding records. :)
Mildorah
Excellent pressing of my favourite MJ album, if all modern pressings were this good is buy more
Cyregaehus
I finally bought it this week and it sounds way better than the original CD version on my system (Denon amp with Mosscade speakers).
Samut
I don't know why some people are experiencing this release as utter garbage whilst others praise its excellent sound quality.I bought my copy yesterday sealed in a shop in Berlin. My personal opinion is that it sounds fantastic. I mean just at the beginning of Blackand White when you hear that kid's father's knocking, that sounds phenomal, plus the guitar during that track. That release has a lotof dynamics. I love it.However I have a feeling why some people might have a different opinion. I can also hear some hissing but it is only really minor. However hearing thathissing on one or two tracks makes me believe that it might depend on the pickup system one is using for this release. I personally own a 2M Blackcartridge however I can somehow imagine that it might sound entirely different using a different system. I personally love this release. It is a great album and it sounds great. Every track is a banger. Excellent it is one the best sounding vinyls I have heardin my entire life, I think. But that is my own personal opinion.
Saithi
I have it and it sounds really good. No problems with this pressing!
Dobpota
Not sure why others had so many problems with this pressing. I have it and it sounds really great. Also had an original '91 copy and it sounded surprisingly awful. It was very quiet and lacked detail.
RuTGamer
For me, This LP is Excellent. Great sound vs my old Cd. Better sound. Don't listen to de previous comments....
Gathris
After reading others comments on this MOV pressing, I almost didn't break the seal on this album and was going to send it back. I'm glad I opened it, because it sounds phenomenal. Maybe I got lucky, or maybe they fixed the issue.
Dammy
Same here, sounds great! No issues at all. Maybe a second or earlier pressing..
skyjettttt
The sound is really disgusting. Every "s" sounds like a snake. Every cymbal sounds like it's going to crush my ears with scissors. The worst version ever.
Fomand
1102/5000I keep my remarks on the quality of this pressing, even if this album is in my top 10 of all time. This pressing is one of the 5 or 6 albums I use for testing my new needles when I change some. I played it with $50 to $350 needles, with a DJ turntable and a Hi-Fi record player. Nothing completely hides the poor quality of pressing and mixing of this edition, and no needle can make my ears believe that the sybillin sounds are well mixed on this album. Currently, I have a 2M Bronze PnP cartridge by Ortofon which simplifies and makes listening more pleasant, but the facts are there: This disk is mediocre. It does not mean that the songs are bad, it is certainly the best album of all time. Afterwards if you think that a decent needle for listening to popular music costs more than $350, then I can no longer answer you. And if the price of your needle makes you forget the imperfections that your ears tell you, so much the better for you, because I listen to my ears more than my wallet. The truth is here : this pressing is horrible when you're the King of Pop.
bass
Don't want to be a smart ass, but maybe try to buy a decent needle?
Akelevar
It isn't the first time that MOV has totally screwed up an LP reissue :-( I'm very carefull with their releases.
Foxanayn
I just got this and also have sound problems...Edit: got rid of it :)
Whiteseeker
I just got mine too. What sound problems do you perceive?
Banal
Is it just my version or does this release contain massive sound issues?
Nikobar
Did you find another edition that has good sound ?
