Radiophonics: 1995 Soundscapes 1 Live in Argentina. That which passes-1995 soundscapes vol. 3. Robert Fripp. Robert Fripp's "A Blessing of Tears" consists of improvised live performances from Fripp's solo soundscapes tour in the beginning of 1995. Soundscapes is a form of digital guitar looping based on Frippertronics- tape-based guitar looping that Brian Eno concocted. Fripp performs this in many contexts, in the case of this album, as a solo performer. The music on this album is entirely improvised, with only Fripp's guitar and processing in place.
It is separate from the soundscape concept utilized by various avant-garde composers. 1994 - Robert Fripp 1999 (CD). 1996 - Radiophonics: 1995 Soundscapes Volume I (CD). 1996 - A Blessing of Tears: 1995 Soundscapes Volume II (CD). 1996 - That which Passes: 1995 Soundscapes Volume III (CD). 1996 - Pie Jesu (CD). 1997 - November Suite: Soundscapes - Live at Green Park Station (CD). 1997 - The Gates of Paradise (CD). 2005 - Love Cannot Bear: Soundscapes - Live in the USA (CD). 2005 - World Financial Centre New York, New York, 30 November 2000 (FLAC or MP3). 2005 - St Peters Church, 3 December 2005 (FLAC or MP3).

This album is classical Fripp soundscapes, but with less emotional content than in "A Blessing Of Tears". The songs are supposed to reflect the different emotional stages a dying person would go through, so the music is sometimes sad, sometimes ethereal, sometimes fearful, but most of the time very dissonant and not friendly to the listener. This opening piece is strongly reminiscent of 'Radiophonics', but just as it builds to a near-intolerable density the whole thing ceases immediately as if startled out of a nightmare, and a very new Soundscape begins in the form of 'On The Approach Of Doubt'.
