Wide River is the fifteenth album by American rock band the Steve Miller Band, released in 1993. The title track was their last Billboard Hot 100 single, peaking at No. 64. It would be Steve Miller Band's last studio album until Bingo! seventeen years later in June 2010. As of 2010, sales in the United States have exceeded 258,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. When Wide River was released in June 1993, it was his first album for five years and turned out to be his last album for 17 years, until 2010's Bingo!. It was recorded with his regular touring band and features all Miller's signature sounds. Disc: 1. 1. Wide River. Steve Miller and his band always manage to put together a pretty solid CD and in all formats since the mid 1970s. This early 90s CD is no different, and in fact Miller has managed to maintain his bluesy guitar riffs and vocals so wonderfully that if you didn't know the date of Wide River you could easily think it had come out a decade or so earlier. The Steve Miller Band is an American rock band formed in 1966 in San Francisco, California. The band is led by Steve Miller on guitar and lead vocals. The group is best known for a string of (mainly) mid- to late-1970s hit singles that are staples of classic rock radio, as well as several earlier psychedelic rock albums. Miller left his first band to move to San Francisco and form the Steve Miller Blues Band.
