Performance and Cocktails is the second studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics. It was released by V2 on 8 March 1999. The name 'Performance and Cocktails' comes from lyrics in the album's first song, "Roll Up and Shine". Performance and Cocktails gave Stereophonics three straight top five singles in the British charts with "The Bartender and the Thief" reaching number-three, and both "Just Looking" and "Pick a Part That's New" reaching number-four. The album itself was a success, topping the UK Albums Chart selling 119,954 copies in its first week and going on to become the fifth best selling album in the UK in 1999. Such was the album's persistence, that it re-entered the UK charts over four years after its initial release, reaching number twenty-five in January 2004. Call Us What You Want but Don't Call Us in the Morning.

In the UK, Stereophonics have been awarded five multi-platinum album certifications, two platinum and four gold; one of their singles has been awarded platinum certification, one gold and six silver. They have sold over 7,565,000 albums in the UK, 2,200,000 singles and 100,000 video albums, making them one of the most successful Welsh rock acts. With albums charting across the globe they have sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Kelly Jones and his acolytes have chosen to offer us six tracks of the latest album "Scream Above The Sound" and a medley of their best songs picked up from their ten studio albums and composed according to the mood of the moment. It is more often used humorously. I thought I had a good shot at this job until the recruiter said, "Don't call us, we'll call you" after the interview.

Wake up call, coffee and juice Rememberin' you What happened to you? I wonder if we we'll meet again Talk about life since then Talk about why did it end. You made me feel like the one You made me feel like the one The one You made me feel like the one You made me feel like the one The on. On their fifth record, Stereophonics finally cracked the mainstream with Dakota, a song that shot to the top of the UK Singles Chart, and went Gold in the United Kingdom. They’d never again reach such heights, or impact upon the US charts. The track is a straight up and down love song, characterised by electronic atmospherics and an energetic chorus. The music video gives the impression of an American road trip, with a Mustang featured in front of a green screen, possibly adding to the appeal of the song in the US.

Happy 20th anniversary to 'Performance and Cocktails’. What’s your favourite track on the album?! . K.

Stereophonics did not resurface until later the following year where they began recording for the sixth studio album Pull The Pin which was released on 15 October 2007. Four o'clock in the morning I'm driving all over the road I swerve a dog on the high street And crash into the post. Oh oh oh oh oah oh Oh oh oh oh oah oh Oh oh oh oh oah oh Oh oh oh oh oh oh. She can't wait any longer I got to help her come into the world The police try to arrest us But then they see the baby girl. Five o'clock in the morning I'm drinking coffee on the ward I take a walk in to see her Tells me 'bout the dad that took off. Oh oh oh oh oah oh Oh oh oh oh oah oh Oh oh oh oh oah oh All in one night All in one night.

There are more ballads than before, and some of the rockers don't burn with the intensity that they did on the last album. This doesn't make Performance and Cocktails a bad album, though; fans will be very pleased that the Stereophonics have released another slab of indie-flavored hard rock
