Here also fingerprints and signs of dirt / dust in a new sealed copy. Many static/pops. I cant use it at the time. need to be cleaned. sounds bad. also the hole is to small. stucks on the turntable and hard to remove. very disappointed of a record pressed in 2017 ^^
Hudora
Am i reading this correct, that a 180g double set is housed as a single (e.g. no gatefold) with this pressing? if so, no wonder why splitting is frequent :(

Again overpriced - Great informative reviews .Brilliant powerful soundtrack by the Zimmer Frame Nothing can compare to Vangelis - I have read and heard ten thousands tracks but Science Fiction ;) 1492

I bought mine brand new, and it came marked, dirty and with scratches. The spindle hole is too small which makes the record hard to remove, and some of the photos on the sleeve are also low quality. All that being said, this is an amazing soundtrack, and after a good clean I'm happy with the quality of this record.

I listened to this back-to-back tonight with the 180 gram vinyl 2018 reissue of original blade runner soundtrack. What a wonderful way to spend an early summer evening. Each album is good in its own way - but here are some comments (sometimes comparing with the original movie Vangelis soundtrack vinyl)1) Sound quality.... My copy does NOT have fingerprints or signs of dirt/mishandling from a new-purchased copy. Looks clean right out of the packaging. I washed each vinyl with spin-clean record cleaning wash, carefully, just to prep for the ideal listening experience. Out of the 2 vinyls, 4 sides total, there were 3 instances where the lower-volume gradient intros did have some light crackle, i.e. instead of listening to the growing pure drone of a synth there are some 'fireplace crackle' vinyl artifacts audible when first putting the cartridge to the vinyl on 3 sides. Well for whatever reason when I gave the vinyl a light sweep with a carbon fiber brush, on the 2nd play this crackle, which mind you is probably a tolerable amount for many, was probably decreased by 40% or so. No longer as irritating. And it's only in the first minute or so, i.e. very outer edges of the vinyl. For the rest of each vinyl surface crackle was almost nonexistent, i.e. about what you would expect from a good clean new well-manufactured vinyl record. Thus I have to report that this is not vinyl that has every sound come at you, regardless of dynamics (i.e. especially quiet parts), out of the blackest of empty silences with no surface noise whatsoever. I wish it was so. This is a paradox of vinyl altogether (i.e. sounds better than lossy digital formats, but does bear some artifacts). 2. Music quality.....Original Blade Runner soundtrack has much more emphasis on crime-noir themes in a sci-fi setting. Suitable for a focus on Deckard as someone who is a detective who is intrigued by a dame and is in pursuit of something where outside forces are powerful and pushing back. The Vangelis stuff works well because it's like a futuristic jazz sax at times, at other times has a piano section that you imagine in a dusty, whiskey filled bar - goes with the loney detective seeking occasional respite in a rough world. Some of this carries over to Blade Runner 2049 of course, but in the case of 2049 there is more of a ongoing focus (I think) of the protagonist being puzzled/affected/haunted by his own (implanted) memories and shifting sense of identity/affinity. I'm sure others who study these movies may disagree but I'm just offering an interpretation here, and I'll just throw out the tentative suggestion that Deckard throws himself outside into the world more, whereas K is much more "in his own head" from even the very start of the movie. So, the newer 2049 sound track has more atmospheric surges and swells, like the things K is trying to sort out in his own head, and the piano theme here is comparatively much more sparse (just about the only non-synth melodic element). Bottom line - there are overlaps between the two soundtracks but also differences in thematic emphasis. So, the newer soundtrack suits the more recent film. Also as a 2018 listener I just think Vangelis is great for reedy synth pads and textures that by now are presets on so many hardware synths today. The newer soundtrack seems to have more processed sounds for more modern times, i.e. the otherworldly pads and droning sounds and other textures are the next evolution. Timbre/distortion etc is pushed more in the newer soundtrack as part of the sonic construction.3. Coherence of presentation.....I wish the pop song did not exist at the end of side 4. It doesn't fit the mood of the soundtrack but I guess it's nice like an alarm clock to remind you to get up and take the cartridge off the vinyl. It's basically the 'end credits ' song that gets you to rustle about, gather your things, and leave the movie theater. But out of a whole long soundtrack you get no elvis or adele etc for all the rest of the vinyl, which is nice. 4. Packaging.....I wish the packaging of the vinyl for Blade Runner 2049 was more epic - gatefold, etc. But it's good enough just because it represents what is basically the movie poster on the front cover. I'm sticking the vinyl in some mobile fidelity sleeves then sticking the cardboard outer sleeve in some protective mylar with backing - it will look nice that way.Final review, then, subjective score:Quality of soundtrack: 8.5/10. It's unique, it's great, it takes me places. I will re-listen often.Quality of pressing 7/10. Not the disaster people make it out to be. But I do recommend cleaning the vinyl. I don't know why there is the 'intro of vinyl/right at beginning' crackle. Quality of packaging 5/10 - averageListened to using ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge. Wait.... it says "Limited to 2500 copies" yet the last picture shows a number higher than 2500 (2518 to be exact)... what the heck?
Sagda
I believe this might be because it had a terrible problem with seam splits so they had the overstock/replacement sleeves numbered higher for those.I've been buying records for years and this was one of the worst handled packaging/quality control presses I've ever seen.I had to send mine back three separate times for seam splits to the same spot on top.I've noticed that it's mentioned quite a few times with others.Plus with their return policy they did pay for the return shipping but it didn't come with tracking so if you didn't pay for the tracking and something happened you were SOL.Simply put this was a catastrophe for releases as far as execution of packaging.

Good call, maybe it was in 2500-2599 range. idk thats weird

I have #528 and yeeeeeah... people weren't lying. The quality control over this pressing is bad. I bought a sealed copy straight from the website (which they are still available, don't buy any from discog sellers just yet) and there were hand/finger prints from somebody handling these without gloves. The sound quality is amazing, but it does have a lot of static/pops in it. Still haven't experienced skipping. It will probably get better once I clean the records.
Yozshubei
I have issue No. 0077. Awesome music, I'm sure the value will increase in the future!
Kirizan
The quality control over this seems to be the pits. Tracks 1 and 2 on Disc 1, Side A, right from a sealed copy has a gouge that is causing major pops until Track 2 is amost done. Side B has so many "handling marks on it". My regular copy had far better quality control over this one. Disc 2 both sides have splotches in places. What where they thinking this being a premium release?
Phobism
I am having similar situation with my 2 LP's. I agree with the premium release comment.

Finally I received my two copies 0552 and 0553. I opened only one. I'm very disappointed first from the shipping - one angle was bended on both albums. Also there is awful background noise. Do you have the same issue with the noise? It's constant. Not only popping. I'll try to clean the records tomorrow. I hope this to fix some of the noise. I suspect shallow groove. I have the same noise when I'm playing Picture vinyls.
Dodo
I had the same issue (one angle bended). It's a pity but I doubt it would be a good idea to send it back and wait for another copy.Regarding the sound quality I need to listen it better.
Jare
Yes, i've received also my copy with a bended corner. bad shipment and package.. And yes, also background noise on side B. I agree with some of the other reviews, it feels like a cheap cashgrab. The LP's from Interstellar, Oblivion, Dark Knight are very much better.. what do i say? They are TOP !!!
Samuhn
I've sold 3 copies of this here in the last month, 2 for 65.00cdn and 1 for 70.00cdn. Not sure where Discogs is getting there statistics from, looks like they're raising the prices to get higher listings for more fees.

Confirming that the download is for a 320kbps mp3, and includes the the tracks not included on the vinyl (Sinatra, Elvis).
Mettiarrb
Fantastic movie and awesome soundtrack, but could have been a better package overall. Perhaps there will be a select special edition released later on with different cover art and colored vinyl or something. Regardless I'm glad that this is out anyway because this music represents perhaps the best movie I've seen in a decade.
Shan
This is a bad pressing in bad packaging! It's the first time I've ever received a brand new record with split seams already, fingerprints, and a hefty amount of surface noise and pops. Even the center hole on disc 1 is too small so I have to force it on to my 1200. Also, the graphic design is off somehow, it kind of looks stretched/pixelated. It doesn't look like a record cover? The inner sleeves are of the hard paper type that scratches the record as you pull it out, and they were already chafed and ripped inside the non-gatefold flimsy outer cover, as if the record plant employee had needed to force them in, but of course only after getting his fingerprints all over the records themselves while he or she unceremoniously inserted them into the sandpaper type inner sleeves. The pressing sounds lifeless. No matter how loud I play it, it just sounds dull. And to top it off, dear lord, that Almost Human track.... W T F ?
Dukinos
I have the same issue with background noise. It's awful. Sounds like cheap picture vinyl. And I'm using very good stylus - Ortofon 2M Black with nude shibata. I'm very disappointed from this release. Total crap.
hardy
Yeah I've had to send for a replacement twice and it just keeps coming back with seam splits in the cover. Now I'm not sure if it's happening in shipment or before but this is ridiculous.
Gaua
Agreed, Only Human is garbage compared to the atmosphere the rest of the record inspires. I've been disappointed by the level of dust on mine, and a badly cut centre hole on record one.Don't get me bloody started on the print quality of these (non-poly) sleeves - pixellated images that really let down what should've been a premium product, to accompany a marvellous film.
Ucantia
Mine is just like that so you are not alone. Both discs have a center hole that is too small.
Conjulhala
I have a numbered copy but mine has a defective hole which makes it hard to fit on my Sanyo Direct Drive, but I also got a non numbered one and that has a better hole. Be careful when buying this as you might get a copy that is defective.
Hellstaff
Right, OK. Yeah keep sending it back then until the hole isn't defective. Good luck
Zamo
Should not have to do that on a brand new LP.
Endieyab
a "defective" hole?? Just make it bigger! Use a screwdriver or better still a biro pen
blac wolf
Yeah mine isn't even numbered!! Inspite of that being in the description.to find out on top of that that this isn't even that good would be (hopefully) the last and most painful kick in the nuts that has been 2017!
Ielonere
In my humble opinion to offer a Ltd edition, only to have a regular edition made available the same day without any discernable difference reeks. Why not just make a high quality record available to all and call it a day. The inclusion of Only human is utter lunacy. Its like your asking me to actually sit down to listen to a record knowing full well I'll have to fucking stand up at some point to advance my needle to the next track. OK, the sound quality and the pressing.. The records are filthy out of the sleeves and need cleaning. The pressings are a good 180g. The sound quality I found to be really quite high, good clarity and a really full sound. But the pressing is full of pops and crackles. Track two sound like it had a massive scratch but it passed in 4 revolutions. Overlook the crackles and you have what is a well mastered soundtrack. I bet the Jóhann Johansson version if allowed to conclude would have been brilliant. Instead what we have is a pretty decent soundtrack with odes to Vangelis... I hope I grow to like it nearly half as much as I adore the genius original.
Uickabrod
How is this not a limited edition of 2049? Missed opportunity.
Xal
I wish I could give two different ratings for the media and the packaging.Let's get the good out of the way. This soundtrack sounds amazing (with the exception of Almost Human). Very few pops or clicks on all sides for my copy. Fascinating electronic and (dark) ambient music. "Sea Wall" is a roller coaster of emotions just like the scene it represents. The bad: the packaging. Most, if not all of the images seemed to have been blown up from smaller sizes and appear pretty low-resolution when scrutinized. The records are inside of printed inner sleeves, nothing more. The printed inner sleeves and outer jacket are both very thin, so I got seam splits on all of it, unfortunately. Even worse, the sides of the printed inner sleeves are not the same height, so your records will actually be exposed to the elements on the shorter side unless you put it in another inner sleeve that's tall enough (which I recommend). The packaging could have been thought through some more.I'm not sure why "Almost Human" needed to be in this movie or this soundtrack in any way. It's a generic, forgettable pop song that didn't sound great on vinyl.
